The Holy Spirit's Working in the Believer

I. He Regenerates/Gives Birth to the Believer (John 3; Titus 3)

       A. Born of the Spirit (John 3:3, 7)

       B. Washing of Regeneration & Renewing of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5b)

II. He Indwells the Believer (I Corinthians 6:19, Romans 8:9)

      A. Body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost (I Corinthians 6:19)

      B. If any man have not the Spirit of God he is none of His (Romans 8:19)

III. He Seals the Believer (Ephesians 1:13, 14; II Corinthians 1:21, 22; II Timothy 2:19)

      A. Who has also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (II Corinthians 1:22)

      B. Ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of Promise (Ephesians 1:13)

      C. Seal is the sign of Ownership/Protection by God (II Timothy 2:19; Revelation 7:3-8, 9:4)

IV. He Adopts the Believer (Romans 8:14-16; Galatians 4:5, 6)

      A. But ye have received the Spirit of Adoption (Romans 8:15)

      B. That we might receive the adoption of sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son (Galatians 4:5, 6)

V. He Empowers the Believer for Victory in Life and Service (Romans 8:2, 12, 13)

      A. For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the Law of sin and death (Romans 8:2)

      B. If ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live (Romans 8:13)
